What You’ll Do
Two of the most beautiful regions of Mauritania, Adrar and Tagant. This is a 4X4 tour that will lead you to the most beautiful oases, canyons and ergs of the Adrar and Tagant regions. The Tagant has much to offer: the Saharan crocodiles of Matmata, the ancient cities of Tichit, Tidjikja, Rachid, and Khat, all built in old stones and the beautiful oasis of Ain Safra. We may also venture to the amazing city of Oualata (on approval of the authorities) close to the Malian border (3 weeks needed). You will marvel at its singular architecture : white and ochre ornaments that frame doors and windows in a magnificent and complex way. Each if these ornaments tell a unique story.
We will be filled with awe and respect in front of the drawings realised by the first Saharan populations in the superb cave of Gentour Thouelme.
