What You’ll Do
The ancient city of Chinguetti is the cradle of the Maures.
You will walk around the old city and discover the centuries-old manuscripts kept in the family-run-libraries where erudites will enchant you with their tales. You will have friendly chats with the shop keepers who will invite you inside to share a Saharan tea. You will be in touch with your nomadic soul while discovering the Adrar oasis (Lagueila, Lemghaleque Mhairet, Terjit…). Crossing the ergs and admire their amazing declinations of ocre colours (big erg Ouarane), and across the canyons (Khangue Amoun) and the plateaus of Irat, Nouaje, Noizine at the pace of the camels. You will be delighted to reach the refreshing oasis of Terjit after marveling at the view of the Mont Zarga. All along this meharee, you will meet the nomadic population of the Sahara.
