What You’ll Do

The natural reserve of the Banc d’Arguin will acquaint you with a new face of Mauritania between dunes and oceans. This tour will introduce you to the ornithological diversity of this Mauritanian national park.  Depending on the time of year, you may see many different species of migrating birds. You will also  meet the tribe of the Imraguen, Mauritanian fishermen who have been teaming up with dolphins for thousands of years  in a nature friendly way. They will take you for a sailing day on their “lanche” (traditional fishing ship) and you will have the opportunity to contemplate the marine fauna and the many birds species. Tide willing, we may drive along the beach for many more exceptional viewings and discoveries.

Then we are back into the desert of the nomads. We reach the “baie des Lévriers”, we drive along the railway where you will see the longest train in the world. We will then take you to the monolith of Ben Amira and his “wife” Aicha (we will tell you their story….). We will then get on to the famous Adrar and its impressive Saharan landscapes.
