Diawling National Park

Diawling is a large park in the south west corner of Mauritania along the Senegal border, which edges right up to the Atlantic coast. This park is brimming with wildlife, including large migratory birds like pelicans, camaroons, herring, and flamingos, as well as wild boar, snakes and sometimes even monkeys who come over from Senegal. This park marks the border where Sahara meets Sahel at the Senegal River delta.
